Monsters began as a series of sculpted objects. The sculptures look like plants but are made entirely from animal parts. The title Monsters derives from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein: “It is true, we shall be monsters, cut off from all the world; but on that account, we shall be more attached to one another.” Like Doctor Frankenstein, I suture together fragments of animal corpses in a faulty attempt to create new life from death, alluding to the error of the search for objective truths about nature.
